Workslayr’s ‘My Dashboard’ serves as your personal operational hub, and a key function available here for many employees is the ability to clock in and out. This feature helps accurately track working hours, which is crucial for project budgeting, client billing, and ensuring compliance with your company’s attendance policies.
Accessing the Clock In/Out Function #
The ‘Clock In’ button is prominently displayed at the top right of your My Dashboard. This ensures quick and easy access, allowing you to start your workday or begin tracking time with minimal friction. Every employee, including administrators, has access to their individual ‘My Dashboard’ from the left navigation bar.
Understanding the Start Timer Setting #
Your ability to clock in and out, and how it relates to tracking time for specific tasks, is influenced by a setting configured in your employee profile: ‘Start timer without clock in’.
- If this setting is set to ‘Yes’, you are not required to clock in before you can start a timer on a task or project. This is often ideal for contractual employees or freelancers whose work might not adhere to strict clock-in/out schedules but still needs robust time tracking.
- If this setting is set to ‘No’, clocking in is mandatory before you can initiate any task timers. This typically applies to employees with fixed working hours, ensuring that all tracked time is preceded by an official clock-in.
This flexibility allows your organization to tailor time tracking to various employment types, ensuring accurate data collection for all team members.
The Clock In Process #
When you click the ‘Clock In’ button, a small pop-up window will appear. Here, you will be prompted to select your current company location and specify your working environment for the day. Common options include ‘Office’, ‘Home’, or ‘Other’. This essential step allows your company to maintain accurate records of where work is being performed, which can be important for operational planning and resource allocation. Once you’ve made your selections, you can confirm your clock-in, and your working hours for the day will begin to be recorded.
The ‘Clock In’ button is specifically located on the ‘My Dashboard’ tab because it is a personal action directly related to your individual work schedule. While administrators have access to various company-wide attendance data through the HR Analytics tab on the Admin Dashboard, individual clock-in and clock-out actions are always performed from your personal dashboard view.
After clocking in, you can continue to utilize your dashboard to manage your tasks, view your schedule, and access other personalized widgets. You can customize which widgets are visible on your dashboard using the Dashboard Widget Settings, ensuring your view remains relevant and efficient throughout your workday.
The Dashboard Widget Settings on your My Dashboard in Workslayr empower you to personalize your workspace. This feature allows you to control which information widgets are displayed, ensuring your dashboard provides the most relevant operational data at a glance for your day-to-day tasks. Personalizing your dashboard helps streamline your workflow by offering quick access to essential updates concerning your projects, appointments, and personal work metrics.
Customizing Your My Dashboard View #
Workslayr makes it easy to tailor your My Dashboard to suit your individual needs. Every employee, including administrators, has a dedicated My Dashboard designed to present information most relevant to their operational role. Unlike the comprehensive overview offered by the Admin Dashboard, your personal dashboard focuses on your specific work contributions.
To access the settings for your widgets, locate the cogwheel icon labeled ‘Dashboard Widget Settings’ near the ‘Clock In’ button on your My Dashboard. Clicking this icon reveals a list of available widgets, allowing you to toggle them on or off. This level of customization ensures that your Workslayr experience is optimized for your productivity and focus.
