Workslayr’s Appreciation feature provides a dedicated space to acknowledge and celebrate your team members’ hard work and achievements. This module fosters a positive work environment by making it easy to send and receive recognition, boosting morale and engagement across your organization.
Unlike simple chat messages, Workslayr’s appreciation system is designed for structured, visible recognition. It allows for a formal record of commendations, which can be particularly useful for performance reviews and building a culture of positive reinforcement.
Sending Appreciation to Employees #
Anyone within your Workslayr account can send appreciation to other employees. This democratic approach ensures that recognition can come from peers, managers, or even cross-departmental colleagues, promoting a wide-reaching culture of gratitude. To send an appreciation, you will typically find a dedicated “Appreciation” section or button within the interface. When sending appreciation, you can specify the employee being recognized and provide a detailed message highlighting their contribution. This helps ensure the recognition is specific and meaningful.
For example, if an employee like Sarah in the marketing team went above and beyond to meet a project deadline, her manager or a team member could send an appreciation directly to her. The message could detail how her extra effort positively impacted the team’s ability to deliver on time, providing concrete feedback.
Viewing Received Appreciation #
Your individual My Dashboard serves as a personalized hub for all your workday information, including any appreciation you receive. Within your dashboard, you will find an “Appreciations” widget. This widget displays a list of all the commendations you have received, allowing you to easily review and reflect on positive feedback.
This dedicated space on your dashboard ensures that appreciation is not lost in a sea of notifications but is readily accessible. It acts as a continuous reminder of your valuable contributions, helping to reinforce a sense of purpose and achievement within your role.
Customizing Appreciation Display #
The visibility of the “Appreciations” widget on your My Dashboard is entirely customizable. Next to the Clock In button, you’ll find a cogwheel icon labeled ‘Dashboard Widget Settings’. By clicking on this, you can toggle the “Appreciations” widget on or off according to your preference. This flexibility allows you to tailor your dashboard view to focus on the information most relevant to you, ensuring a personalized and efficient user experience.

Workslayr’s Appreciation & Awards module allows you to foster a positive workplace culture by recognizing and rewarding your team’s achievements. This section guides you through the process of creating awards within Workslayr, enabling you to celebrate milestones and motivate your employees.
Creating an Award #
Recognizing hard work and success is a key part of maintaining team morale and productivity. Workslayr provides a straightforward way to create and manage awards for your staff. These awards can be tied to specific achievements, tenure, or other criteria important to your business. Once created, these awards can be assigned to individual team members, and the recognition can even appear on their My Dashboard if configured in the Dashboard Widget Settings.
To create a new award, navigate to the awards section within the HR & Workforce Management module. Look for an option such as “Add Award” or a similar button that initiates the award creation form. Here, you will define the specifics of the award you wish to bestow upon your team members.
Award Configuration Steps #
When creating an award, you will typically fill out the following fields to define its purpose and presentation:
- Award Title: Provide a clear and descriptive name for the award (e.g., “Employee of the Month,” “Sales Leader,” “Project Completion Excellence”).
- Award Description: Detail what the award signifies and the criteria for receiving it. This helps ensure transparency and encourages other employees to strive for similar recognition.
- Award Icon/Image: Upload an appropriate icon or image to visually represent the award. This adds a personalized touch and makes the award more engaging.
- Award Type: Select the category or type of award. You might define types such as “Monthly,” “Quarterly,” “Annual,” or “Special Recognition.” This helps categorize and track different kinds of achievements.
- Recipient Designation: Specify which employees or roles are eligible for this award, or if it’s open to all.
- Active Status: Toggle whether the award is currently active and available for assignment.
After defining these details, you can save the award. It will then be available for selection when you wish to recognize an employee. Properly configured awards can significantly contribute to an employee’s overview dashboard, showcasing their accomplishments and motivating others.
Assigning Awards to Employees #
Once an award has been created, you can assign it directly to employees. This process typically involves selecting the employee from your employee table and then choosing the relevant award from a dropdown list of available awards. You may also specify the date of the award and add any additional remarks.
Maintaining a record of awards within Workslayr helps in tracking employee recognition over time. This information can be valuable for performance reviews and understanding overall employee contributions, complementing other data such as attendance tracking and project performance. By leveraging this feature, you can build a culture of appreciation and acknowledgment that supports team growth and retention.
Workslayr allows administrators and designated users to issue appreciation tokens to employees. These tokens serve as a recognition mechanism within the platform, visible on an Employee Overview Dashboard.
To access the appreciation token feature, navigate to the main menu and select the ‘Appreciation’ module. This view displays all issued appreciations.
Creating an Appreciation Token #
To issue a new token:
- Click the ‘+ Add Appreciation’ button. This action opens a form.
- Select the Employee who will receive the token.
- Input a Title for the appreciation, such as ‘Outstanding Performance’ or ‘Team Player’.
- Provide a Description detailing the reason for the appreciation.
- Choose an Appreciation Type. These types are configurable through settings. Examples include ‘Star Performer’ or ‘Innovator’.
- Upload an optional Image to accompany the appreciation. This image is visible to the recipient.
- Click ‘Save’.
Once saved, the appreciation token is recorded and visible to the recipient on their My Dashboard. The system records the date and time of issuance.
Managing Appreciation Tokens #
The appreciation overview page allows for review and management of all issued tokens. Each entry displays the employee’s name, title, description, and appreciation type.
- Tokens can be filtered by employee or by date range.
- Administrators can edit or delete existing appreciation tokens. Editing allows for corrections to the title, description, or type. Deleting removes the token from the system.
This functionality contributes to internal recognition. Appreciation tokens are distinct from performance reviews or formal reward systems.
Workslayr automates notifications for employee appreciations and awards. This system ensures employees are informed about acknowledgments they receive.
When an appreciation or award is recorded in Workslayr, the system generates a notification. This notification is sent directly to the recognized employee.
Notifications are visible through two channels:
- In-App Notifications: A bell icon in the navigation bar displays a summary of new notifications. Clicking this icon shows a list of recent updates, including appreciations.
- Email Notifications: An email is sent to the employee’s registered email address. This email contains details about the appreciation or award received.
The content of the notification includes: The type of award or appreciation, the sender, and any accompanying message. These notifications contribute to the overall employee overview dashboard.
Appreciation notifications can be viewed on an employee’s My Dashboard within the Appreciations widget, if enabled in Dashboard Widget Settings. This provides a direct path to viewing recognitions received.
The Appreciation History feature logs all instances of appreciation given to or received by employees within Workslayr. This provides a record of recognition events. Each appreciation entry includes details about the giver, receiver, message, and date.
Viewing Appreciation History #
Individual employees can view their received appreciations on My Dashboard if the ‘Appreciations’ widget is enabled via Dashboard Widget Settings. Administrators can access a company-wide view.
To access the full Appreciation History as an administrator:
- Navigate to the left-hand menu and select HR.
- Click on Appreciation.
- The main page displays a table of all recorded appreciations.
Appreciation Details #
Each entry in the Appreciation History table shows the following information:
- Giver: The employee who issued the appreciation.
- Receiver: The employee who received the appreciation.
- Message: The custom message included with the appreciation.
- Award: The specific award given, if applicable.
- Date: The date the appreciation was recorded.
This history contributes to the overall Employee Overview Dashboard and provides context for employee recognition efforts. Records assist in tracking recognition trends and individual contributions, which can be useful when reviewing employment dates & status.
